Lieutenant Colonel John Barnett, United States Marine Corps
Lieutenant Colonel John Barnett has served over 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, the majority as an intelligence officer. He has served nearly six years in recruiting and recruit training, both in the United States and in Iraq. He has enjoyed multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and resided for over three years in Japan. He has trained and planned with host nation military forces in Germany, Honduras, Indonesia, Jordan, South Korea, Thailand, and the United Kingdom. His assignments have included a joint tour with Special Operations Command, plans officer with a Marine Expeditionary Force command element, and service as the operations officer for the Marine Corps’ top-level training organization responsible for instruction in the conduct of planning and operations. His most recent tour was with the Third Recruit Training Battalion at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.
LtCol Barnett graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. His military education includes the Amphibious Warfare School, Air Command and Staff College, and the Joint Forces Staff College.
Colonel Bradley Hoagland, United States Air Force
Colonel Brad Hoagland is an Air Force officer with over 22 years of service. He most recently served as the Director of Operations for the White House Military Office. As the Director, he led the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) as well as the White House’s Airlift Operations division, which provides air transportation supporting the President, Vice President, First Lady, Cabinet members, and other senior government officials traveling aboard specifically configured Department of Defense aircraft. He has commanded a C-130 squadron in Little Rock, Arkansas and Balad, Iraq, and has served as HQ US Air Forces Europe’s chief C-130 evaluator pilot, HQ Air Mobility Command’s C-130 programming officer and executive officer to the Director of Plans and Programs, and the Chief of Airman Development for HQ Air Mobility Command’s Directorate of Manpower and Personnel.
Colonel Hoagland is a command pilot with over 3,400 hours in the T-37, T-38, T-1A, and C-130E/H3. He also has 298 combat hours in support of Operations Joint Endeavor, Joint Forge, Allied Force, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, and holds a master’s degree in engineering and environmental management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He is also a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff College.
Commander Joseph E. Kramek, United States Coast Guard
Commander Joe Kramek is a Judge Advocate who has provided mission support to the full spectrum of Coast Guard operations, as well as regulatory, administrative and legislative matters. While detailed to the Department of Justice as an Admiralty Trial Attorney, he represented the United States in a broad range of maritime cases and claims. Commander Kramek also spent four years at sea conducting counterdrug law enforcement, illegal migrant interdiction, fisheries enforcement, humanitarian and search and rescue operations.
Commander Kramek holds a Masters of Law in Environmental Law from The George Washington University Law School, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. He is a 1993 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. He most recently served as the Special Assistant to the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Commander Richard C. McDaniel, United States Navy
Commander Rich McDaniel is a Surface Warfare Officer and has served at sea on five U.S. Navy combatants and two afloat staffs, where he most recently commanded USS Sterett (DDG 104), an Aegis guided missile destroyer. He has over twenty years of naval service and has spent the majority of his career on sea duty. He has deployed multiple times overseas to the Arabian Gulf, Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, Caribbean and South America. His ashore assignments include Officer Manpower Requirements Analyst at the Naval Manpower Analysis Center and Surface Warfare Officer Detailer at Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tennessee.
Commander McDaniel is a native of Jackson, Tennessee and a graduate of the University of Memphis where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History in August 1992. Additionally, he is a 2006 distinguished graduate and Halsey Group participant of the Naval War College where he obtained a Masters in National Security Affairs and Strategic Studies.
Amy R. McFadden, Central Intelligence Agency
With more than a decade of experience in the Intelligence Community, Ms. McFadden most recently served as a manager in the Central Intelligence Agency’s Counterterrorism Center (CTC). Ms. McFadden was responsible for overseeing strategic and tactical analysis of terrorist organizations operating in South Asia and the Middle East, providing critical insights to the President, senior policymakers and war fighters in theater. Prior to this assignment, Ms. McFadden served in a number of managerial and analytic positions at CIA focused on security issues in the Middle East and was detailed to the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a counterterrorism analyst following the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Ms. McFadden obtained her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Judaic Studies and a certificate in Middle East Studies from the University of Arizona, and a Masters in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.
Colonel Paul Michael Paolozzi, United States Army
Colonel Paul Paolozzi is a career combat engineer in the U.S. Army with over 26 years of service. He recently returned from his second operational assignment in Afghanistan commanding the 18th Engineer Brigade as part of International Security Assistance Force Joint Command. The brigade comprised of over 4000 U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force engineers engaged in theater-wide construction and the lead counter –IED fight. His earlier assignment in Afghanistan as a battalion commander in 2005-2006 was instrumental in the development of the Afghan road network and the removal of mines from areas previously occupied by Soviet defenses. Prior to brigade command, he served as the military assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs complimenting his experience on the Joint Staff during the development of the Kosovo Campaign, service on the U.S. Army Staff in the Army Initiatives Group, and as a military legislative fellow to Senator Hillary Clinton. Colonel Paolozzi also served on the faculty of the United States Military Academy at West Point as a company tactical officer.
Colonel Paolozzi graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. His master’s degrees are in Counseling and Leader Development from Long Island University and National Security Strategy from the National War College.
